APA are implementing HIV/AIDS Programmes in Ethiopia - Amhara Region
and Metekel Zone, in Tanzania in the Districts of Kinodoni and Bagomoyo
and on the Island of Zanazibar and Pemba.
These programmes are reaching
a total number of 12,123,137 people.
Tanzania
In Tanzania, like much of East Africa, the HIV epidemic began in the early 1980's. AIDS was first reported here in 1983 and has since spread at an alarming rate.
With 2 million AIDS orphans live here, Tanzania is important focus of APA.
